Senior Software QA Engineer Asteres
Position 12-0003We are looking for an energetic individual to join our Software Development Team as Senior Software QA Engineer. As Senior QA Engineer you will create and implement test plans and procedures, including automated test cases, based on specific project documentation. SQA Engineers are responsible for ensuring software bugs are reported, tracked and resolved according to QA life cycle procedures. Specifically the Sr. Software QA Engineer will:
Develop test cases and procedures from specified project documentation
Coordinate all testing resources for assigned projects
Execute test cases and procedures
Accurately report and track defects throughout development life cycle
Handle Test Automation and scripting efforts
Report red flag issues to management
Attend product/project meetings
Collaborate with the development team to define, document and continually improve the internal development process
Keep up-to-date with competitive products, technical literature and standards
Keep constant communication with key persons in product development, software development, broadcast operations personnel and QA team members
Desired Skills & Experience:
Prior experience as a QA Tester/analyst with a strong automation background or directly related experience
Candidates must have an understanding of software development cycles, and knowledge of Lean or Agile development is a strong plus
Experience with testing multi-tiered systems and test automation is required
Ideal candidates will be detail oriented, excellent oral and written communicators, have the ability to work well in a fast paced, dynamic environment and possess strong interpersonal skills, including a sense of humor
We are seeking a candidate who has:
Understanding and practical application of SQL for validation and configuration
Experience with scripting language
Test automation experience
Bug reporting tools/software
Understanding of TCP/IP, Ethernet
Familiarity with relational database functions, particularly Microsoft SQL queries and SQL Server management
Understanding of Microsoft Windows platforms: Windows XP, Windows 7
Extensive experience with PC hardware and OS setup and configuration
Ability to script for test automation efforts using tools or scripting languages
Create QA testing builds for new system setup
Ability to develop concise and comprehensive bug descriptions
Ability to methodically reproduce issue scenarios
