This position is expected to help establish a formal Quality System framework for Software, work with cross-functional product teams to establish appropriate measurement practices, report on the quality performance of software products, and lead the analysis and resolution of customer complaints associated with Vocollect?s software products.
Defines and devises programs to meet software customer satisfaction objectives.
Assists in determining the most effective source of data, and the most efficient sampling methods to be employed by analyzing processes and reviewing the processes involved.
Reports, processes, and analyzes software field failure data. Defines charts and graphs showing quality trends, ranges, and variations with respect to software product performance.
Conducts quality software product improvement meetings with appropriate personnel to facilitate problems resolution and corrective action.
Works directly with Engineering, Technical Support, and Customer facing groups to ensure Customer Complaints are analyzed for root causes and actions are identified for improvement.
Conducts or directs process assessments in order to identify improvement opportunities and determine the implementation of appropriate corrective action.
Prepares proposals, Cost of Quality estimates, and approaches for the development of quality oriented projects. Makes presentations to all levels of management and associates as required.
As a senior member of the team, it is expected that you will have a strong theoretical grasp of Vocollect?s software engineering practices, as well as a track record of helping improve product quality.
BS degree in Computer Science, Computer or Electrical Engineering or related field.
Post-Graduate coursework desired
Certified Software Quality Engineer (CSQE) certification preferred
Six Sigma Black or Green Belt Certification a plus
5+ years of experience in a Quality role in a high-technology software organization.
A wide range of experiences working in software testing or development organizations required.
