Senior Software Test Engineer Second Sight Medical Products

We are searching for a Senior Software Test Engineer preferably with software (at both embedded and application levels) verification and validation experience in the medical device industry. This position will be responsible for planning, developing, documenting and executing verification and validation tests at the system, product and component levels.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
? Works with designers and developers early in the requirements phase in a collaborative fashion to ensure system and software requirements are verifiable, quantifiable and unambiguous
? Generates test plans/protocols and builds test cases and test data sets based upon system and software requirements specifications
? Design and prototype test equipment and tools that support system verification and validation processes.
? Coordinate and execute system level verification and validation tests according to approved test plan
? Develops test scenarios and provide support for User Acceptance Testing
? Writes test summaries and verification and validation test reports
? Uses defect tracking software to record test problems
? Develop support programs for assisting in requirements and specifications traceability and data analysis.
? Responsible for engineering and manufacturing documentation of test equipment and support systems
? Regularly participates in verification and validation test readiness and release readiness meetings
? Applies approved technical approaches to testing to ensure that systems and applications are evaluated in an analytical and systematic manner
? May help in developing test automation framework by creating and maintaining automated test scripts
? Work may involve test conducted at external (off-site) location
? Knowledgeable in the regulatory aspects of system verification, validation, and reporting.
? Must be able to work with all levels of users and management
? Must be confident working independently on a testing effort with minimal guidance, and as part of a team
Qualifications:
? Minimum education & training required/preferred:
o BS degree in Biomedical engineering, Computer engineering, EE, or related field
? Minimum work experience required:
o 5+ years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
? Knowledge required:
o Working knowledge of embedded systems and application software.
o Demonstrated use of electronic test equipment (e.g. oscilloscope, logic
analyzers, data generators, multimeters).
o Ability to work from electrical schematics or similar engineering
documentation.
o Demonstrated use of software development tools such as emulators and
compilers.
o Programming experience (high level scripting languages e.g. Python,
MATLAB etc.).
? Knowledge preferred:
o Knowledge of LABVIEW, automated testing tools
? Skills/abilities:
o Must poses excellent verbal and written communication skills, experience
working with several clients or projects simultaneously, technical
competence, and strong organizational skills. Demonstrable problem
solving skills.
