Description
Join our Software Quality Assurance team working on our Critical Care and Perioperative software products We are currently seeking a Senior Software Quality Assurance Engineer for our Picis division of UnitedHealth Group. Picis provides innovative information solutions that enable rapid and sustained delivery of clinical, financial and operational results in the acute care areas of hospitals.
Position Description:
Represent Software Quality Assurance in all phases of the product development lifecycle
Review software requirements specifications
Prepare effective test plans and test cases
Execute manual tests on new and enhanced software products with a goal to detect software defects and ensure that software requirements, specifications and standards have been met
Create test summary reports
Report software discrepancies
Participate in defect review and test planning meetings
Participate in continuous process improvement efforts
Help set-up/maintain test environments
Analyze, troubleshoot and resolve issues
Assist with internal and client facing documentation
Engage in other software quality activities (e.g., documentation of testing activities in support of regulatory requirements)
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
3+ years of Software Test experience, including testing web-based applications
3+ years experience testing client-server applications
Experience in regression and system testing
Effectively multitask and manage priorities
Attention to detail and strong analytical skills
Excellent oral, written and listening skills
Strong technical and business problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of Picis applications and client environment a plus
Proficiency using Microsoft standard packages: Word, Excel, Outlook
User level knowledge of W2K/XP/W7 operating system
Understanding of Windows 2003/2000/XP Server and Workstation, SQL Server and Citrix
Understanding of network architecture and basic elements
Knowledge of remote connection methods (VPN, Remote Desktop, etc.)
Basic working knowledge of VM maintenance, Crystal, Access or other report writing tools
Healthcare experience preferred.
HL7 experience a plus.
Experience using HP's Quality Center suite of testing and defect management tools is a plus
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Health Related Sciences preferred
