Contract to Hire - Senior Staff AccountantWe are seeking an energetic, goal driven Senior Staff Accountant that will be responsible for providing analytical support for SS8?s management, operations and finance teams. The responsibilities will consist of general accounting, period close processes, audit support, analysis, and business metrics. Assist with ad hoc projects, as required. This position will further be responsible for other duties assigned by the CFO and Controller. The position reports to the Controller. We are a privately owned, venture backed company located in the San Jose area.
Job Description
Participate and Support Monthly and Annual Close
Posting of journal entries, accruals and completion of reconciliations as assigned
Assist with preparation of financial statements and variance analysis
Work closely with the Controller and accounting team to improve accounting processes
Participate in annual audit
Fixed Asset Accounting
Operating expense analysis and reporting
Partner with functional managers to assist with understanding of cost drivers
Support subsidiaries with accounting and finance matters
Assist with preparation of annual operating plans and forecasts
Analysis and reporting on travel expense and activity. Partner with corporate travel agency to establish controls and metrics
Create ad-hoc reports, metrics and participate as needed during key periods to provide insights into areas of risk and opportunity and influence business strategies
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance
3+ years of relevant accounting experience, software industry preferred
High proficiency with MS Excel and Word including complex pivot tables
Ability to work independently, with general direction and guidance
Excellent analytical and financial modeling skills
Attention to detail and accuracy
Strong organizational and communication skills
Ability to learn new concepts and technology quickly
Team player
