Job Description
The Storage Architect and Administrator is charged with the strategic planning, tactical actions and operational processes that ensure the optimal functioning of enterprise storage environments. The architect is responsible for all aspects of storage and virtualization platforms including recommendations for technical acquisitions, strategic planning, development of guidelines, standards, procedures and provide technical leadership for other Information Technology associates.
Experience and Skills
Requirements:
8+ years in a storage / technology architecture environment
Strong consultative skills at a cross functional level
Architecture and design experience for complex environments
Advanced experience in management of EMC hardware, software, various other infrastructure technologies and operating systems environments, including Celerra, Clariion, VNX, Isilon and RecoverPoint.
Knowledge of Unix/Windows/VMware
Strong Windows system administration experience including, Active Directory 2008, Windows Server 2008, and Exchange 2007/2010.
Competencies:
Coordinate work with multi-cultural and multiple time zone teams.

Provide consultative and expert advice on Technological and related subjects.
Develop technical solutions to match business requirements.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Responsibilities:
Provides technical leadership and is responsible for the delivery of the technical architectural design, strategies and plans that will be a delivered on an ongoing basis. Will provide performance input regarding team's performance.
Responsible for ongoing management of configuration and layout of storage infrastructure.
Performs necessary storage infrastructure maintenance in accordance with EMC and customer's change management policies.
Designs data migration architecture as required.
Responsible for implementing, tuning and maintaining VMware based solutions.
Experience with building and maintaining high-availability (>99%) environments
Good understanding of SAN, NAS and Network technologies
Experience with VMware HA and DRS
Experience with Windows Operating systems from a system administrator perspective including Microsoft Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange, and Microsoft SQL.
