Senior System Administrator Sendmail
The Senior System Administrator (SA) is responsible for setting the direction and implementing effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware, network administration and software and related infrastructure. This individual must be well versed in FreeBSD, Linux, VMware, Checkpoint FW-1, and Windows systems that support Sendmail?s infrastructure.
SA Engineering and Provisioning
Engineering of SA-related solutions for various project and operational needs.
Maintain and monitor Sendmail network infrastructure including off-site servers, domains & DNS, firewalls, DMZ security, networking equipment, lab networks, etc.
Install new / rebuild existing servers and configure hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc. in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements.
Operations and Support
Provide direction, installation and support of Enterprise Systems.
Provide technology assessments in support of automation and technology migration initiatives.
Recommend improvements; manage/maintain Production and non-Production Systems / Applications to ensure Infrastructure performs at maximum efficiency.
Implement/maintain Corporate Data Security guidelines as directed.
Provide Tier 1 & 2 configuration and administrative support for software like Exchange Server, AD, antivirus, Great Plains, and other Infrastructure / Business type of applications.
Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups.
Perform regular security updates and monitoring to identify any possible intrusions.
Develop and maintain plan to ensure successful recovery of the system environments in the event of a disaster according to Corporate Disaster Recovery Policy.
Provide on-call technical support via phone call as required.

Knowledge/Skills:
Self-motivated. Ability to work on tasks and projects with minimum supervision
Expert FreeBSD, Linux, Windows and networking troubleshooting skills
Good verbal and written communication skills
Fluency with common network tools (cron, Nagios, DNS, VPN, etc)
SQL administration experience (replication, backups, tuning) is a plus
VMware ESX servers and Virtual machines
Checkpoint Firewall and VPN setup and maintenance
Switches, QoS, VLAN and trunking
Configure and maintain DNS / BIND and DHCP servers
Avaya IP office 500 VoIP switch
Bachelor (4-year) degree, with a technical major, such as engineering or computer science.
Systems Administration/System Engineer certification in Unix/Linux and Microsoft.
6+ years of system administration experiences.
Working Conditions/Physical Effort:
Responsibilities sometimes require working evenings and weekends, possibly with little advanced notice.
No regular travel required.
