Senior System Engineer Cornerstone OnDemand

ResponsibilitiesResponsible for data center operations and support to maintain uninterrupted production systems
Specific operations responsibilities include configuration, administration, upgrade, implementing security procedures and maintenance of server, network, DB and user access controls
Responsible for SQL Server upgrades, Web Farm upgrades, implementation of system administration and monitoring tools, and new database clusters installations
Research and resolve complex problems encountered during the installation and operation of our software applications to ensure negligible impact on both client and internal operations
Responsible for daily production support such as batch (scheduled) job execution, creating daily data back ups and problem diagnosis
Interact with our clients on an as needed basis regarding technology issues and escalations
Provide operations leadership in establishing overall architecture and technical expertise to support business growth, security, capacity planning and business recovery plans
Participate in meetings and provides technical assistance and interpretation to Executive staff on issues affecting company-wide computer hardware, software, and communications needs.
Requires continual emergency on-call status involving information systems and data communications systems.
Required Skills and Experience
Bachelor?s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related experience
10 years of data center and application support experience, specifically for a large technology or internet company
Extensive experience in a complex software environment, preferably in a Microsoft environment
Demonstrated experience building and maintaining production system infrastructure, involving large amounts of data that needs to be secured, replicated, archived and delivered to end users with high reliability
Experience with operations tools like PRTG, Splunk, GFI LanGuard as well as open source tools
A wide range of experience working with core technologies and applications including SAN storage, virtualization, database, and web servers
Ability to manage individual project and escalation work load
Desired - Experience with managing SAN storage
Desired ? IIS6/7 in large web environments
Desired ? Supporting Windows SQL Server 2008 in clustered environments
Desired ? Vmware
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including presentation skills and the ability to synthesize technical data for non-technical audiences
Team Leader and Team player
Dependable and Flexible
Ability to work nights and weekends as needed
Ability to travel up to 20% or as needed
