The Senior Windows Administrator will perform architecture, implementation, administration, configuration, monitoring, and updating of assigned enterprise servers. The position also entails application/OS upgrades, performance tuning, problem resolution, storage administration, security administration, capacity planning, policy administration, change management, disaster recovery, backups and systems analysis. The Senior Windows Administrator should demonstrate the ability to assess and identify appropriate solutions to be integrated into the company?s server operation and make recommendations for implementation. The Senior Windows Administrator will demonstrate expertise in front and back-end system technologies in enterprise environments and display common knowledge of best-practices in many different server technologies.
Performs moderately complex systems and database administration. Monitors and tunes appropriate systems to ensure optimum level of performance
Collects and reviews system data for capacity and planning purposes. Analyzes capacity data and develops capacity plans for appropriate level enterprise-wide systems. Coordinates with appropriate management personnel in implementing changes
Supports complex data/media recoverability through system backups and database archive operations. Plans, coordinates and directs appropriate level data recovery strategies.
Installs or coordinates installation of application patches and releases on development, test, quality assurance, and production systems
Develops and maintains appropriate system documentation to ensure that documentation is current. Oversees the maintenance of a library of system-supporting process and procedure documentation
Interacts with End User Computing team members to answer questions, problems and requests regarding complex system issues.
Provides leadership and work guidance to less experienced personnel
WORK EXPERIENCE & SKILLS (Required)
7 - 10 years Systems Administrator experience on single and multiple domains
Experienced in installing OS, managing domain user accounts and managing server farms totaling 40+ servers.
Proficient in supporting the following technologies
Microsoft Windows Server 2003 and newer
Microsoft Exchange 2007 and newer
Microsoft SQL Server 2005 and newer
Active Directory, DNS, DHCP and IIS
VmWare ESX 5.x and Vsphere 5.x
Solid TCP/IP and NetBIOS networking skills
Experienced in troubleshooting various Systems to included Microsoft Server, Messaging and Database technologies.
Experience in troubleshooting desktop technologies specifically in support of lower experienced technicians.
WORK EXPERIENCE & SKILLS (Preferred)
Experience in technical project management relating to the implementation of enterprise applications.
Experience administrating RedHat Linux servers and applications
Experience with Cisco VOIP applications, protocols and standards
Experience with Citrix Xenapp and XenDesktop environments
EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION (Required)
7+ years field experience with Windows Server Administration.
MCSE (Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer) / MCITP (Microsoft Certified IT Professional) Enterprise Administrator or Equivalent work experience.
EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION (Preferred)
Bachelor's degree in computer science, management information systems, or related field
MCITP (Microsoft Certified IT Professional) Enterprise Messaging Administrator
CCVP (Cisco Certified Voice Professional)
