Senior Systems Administrator Adchemy

Our optimal hire is someone that understands and has implemented large scale compute, site reliability, and fault tolerance in a secure environment. This person can provision and deploy hundreds of instances on our own infrastructure or a cloud provider with their eyes closed and is familiar with DevOps processes and culture.

You are a configuration management and orchestration guru, understanding how to spin-up, spin-down, deploy, change, and retrofit different servers and instances with the wave of your magic wand. You like to work with other Developers and Operations people and thoroughly enjoy the impromptu whiteboard discussion on scaling. You have thoughtful insights on the comparison of RDBMS vs. NoSQL solutions and the best way to run both of those solutions. You are open to cloud computing solutions and understand its benefits and limitations. You are a fanatic about metrics and measurement and have designed and implemented systems that can answer questions well-beyond 'red and green.'

Job Responsibilities:

Design, deploy, and administer Adchemy systems and applications across multiple computing environments
Improve and implement tools for standardization of servers, OS and applications.
Contribute to the development of end-to-end monitoring, metrics, and analytics.
Help drive improvements in end-to-end software deployment and packaging for all environments
Work with engineering and operations teams on services design and performance.
Automate data gathering and reporting for software, hardware, and configuration inventory
Provide oncall support in a 24x7 rotation.


Qualifications and Experience:

5+ years experience as a Linux Systems Administration
Previous experience at a SaaS or Internet company employing Agile or Scrum development methods
Knowledge of or experience with AWS or other cloud provider service offerings
Significant scripting and development skills in Perl, Ruby, Java, and/or Bash
Strong hands-on skill with Linux administration across different application environments
Expert level skill in scalable provisioning, package deployment, server role definition, and configuration management.
