Position Title: Sr. Systems Administrator
Reports To: VP of Engineering & CTO
Aircuity Inc., a fast growing technology leader in commercial building energy efficiency solutions has an
immediate opening for a talented Systems Administrator having the requisite experience, technical
competencies and initiative together with a desire to work in a hands-on environment. This position will play
a critical role in supporting the doubling of our business in each of the next several years.
Aircuity provides building owners with sustained energy savings through its intelligent environmental
monitoring system (OptiNet) and web-based information services and analysis (Advisor Services). By
addressing inherent deficiencies in conventional approaches to providing building ventilation, Aircuity?s
solutions deliver significant energy savings for a wide range of commercial, institutional and lab building
applications without sacrificing occupant comfort, productivity or safety.

As the Senior Systems Administrator, you will be working in a fast-paced environment providing systems
administration for our data center as well as in managing our general IT needs via a combination of third
party resources and direct hands-on contributions. This includes managing the operations and support of
our applications servers and related infrastructure through which our subscription services are provided.
While working with our developers, you will contribute directly to the evolution of this architecture to ensure
excellent data throughput and uptime performance for our worldwide customer base. The ideal
candidate possesses strong server hardware, software and network technical competencies combined
with excellent interpersonal skills and a willingness to contribute in a team oriented environment, where
team members take care of our clients and each other. The candidate will also actively manage
relationships with and serve as liaison with external technical support and vendors (IT, phone, wireless, and
? Provide system administration of our applications servers to ensure excellent data throughput and
uptime for our global client base. Windows and Exchange Server Admin (from Windows 2000 to
? Administer data center infrastructure service and maintenance, database and web deployments,
along with load balancing and failure recovery procedures.
? Administration of patches and adhering to a patch schedule.
? Working with the development team, define the infrastructure roadmap to support the scale of
business growth. This includes the recommendation of architectural designs/changes to systems in
response to business or technical drivers.
? Determine and administer colocation and other redundancy and security related strategies.
? Administration and support of real-time system performance monitoring and related metrics
? While working directly with our customer support team, further develop and administer our problem
detection and 24/7 support strategy.
? Take ownership of IT support issues and manage and serve as the liaison to third party IT resources

? Evaluation and analysis of new technologies and vendor products relating to existing and future
? Some general interoffice IT responsibilities via a combination of 3rd party support and hands on
contributions: desktop support, network, networked devices.
? Administrator responsibilities for ShoreTel phone system;
? Supporting regular backups of file and email servers as well as that of our data center;
? Virtual server support and some SQL Server admin;
? Cisco firewall configuration, routing, VPN configuration and implementation;
? VLAN, Wireless, and DHCP configuration and troubleshooting.
? Management of automated monitoring tools on system resources as a part of checking on the 24/7
health of our systems.
? The candidate will possess an advanced skill level in Windows Server Administration (2008) with least
5 to 10 years experience providing related maintenance/support within a server room environment.
? Server clustering and high availability concepts experience, eliminating single points of failure
? Extremely detail-oriented and able to follow standard methodologies for troubleshooting
? 4 year computer-related degree with an emphasis on IT technology utilization is highly preferred.
Equivalent industry work experience will be considered.
? Strong knowledge of MS Office (2003, 2010) and MS Outlook (2010);
? Some Microsoft SQL Server Database Administration experience including planning, Implementing
Backup, and Recovery strategies.
? Proven experience and knowledge with Windows (XP, 7, 8) and Parallels Desktop for Mac.
? Experience administering IIS Web servers IIS 7.5, 7.0
? IT support experience in a helpdesk or other service-oriented IT role is desirable.
? Experience with FTP, HTTP, VLAN, and wireless technologies.
? Citrix XenServer Virtual server knowledge and IIS Web server support experience.
? Excellent customer service, analytical, problem solving, and oral and written communication skills
? Develop, document and enhance system administration processes, procedures and tools
? A positive people-oriented and energetic attitude.
