Senior Systems Administrator GT Nexus
Position Summary
GT Nexus, Inc., a growing SaaS provider, is actively looking for a Senior Systems Administrator to join our expanding team as a monitoring and automation specialist. The ideal candidate will be results driven, goal-oriented, a leader and will possess a strong capability to handle interruptions while multi-tasking in a fast paced environment. The successful candidate will have the ability and the opportunity to rapidly learn new skills and technologies in a high growth setting. Preference will be given to candidates who have demonstrated experience in the following areas: monitoring tools, Windows 2008, Clustering, Active Directory, WebLogic, Chef/Puppet, VMware, system automation and hands-on experience managing production environments.
Collaborate with a strong team to manage and support the company?s on-demand production applications.
Implement and manage and maintain our enterprise application technologies.
Design and improve our monitoring systems to provide real time dynamic insight into system and application performance.
Maintain, improve and automate our operating system imaging process.
Assist in converting manually configured server systems to Chef controlled recipes and cookbooks.
Join our on-call team rotation to assist in providing the highest level of availability for our customers.
Job Requirements
3 years of hands-on experience administering a production environment (with an uptime target 99.99% or greater).
5 years of progressive work experience supporting 24/7 on-demand applications.
At least 5 years of experience in a complex Windows Server environment.
The following system and application experience:
Operating Systems: Microsoft Windows 2008 or newer servers, Linux
Microsoft Clustering
Chef or Puppet
Oracle Weblogic application servers
VMware virtualization technologies
Scripting (Powershell, Ruby, VBscript, perl)
Active Directory (Group Policies)
Splunk as an IT analytics platform
Sitescope, Keynote, SolarWinds, Vcenter Operations Manager, Tripwire or similar
MS SQL 2008 / 2012 (as a system administrator, not a DBA)
Proven ability to use scripts to automate and streamline is very important.
Experience with standard system administration tasks including server builds, security updates, software installs and system troubleshooting.
Experience deploying code to production environments while adhering to strict release management procedures.
