Position Summary: The systems administrator provides the primary technical support for stable operations of our business systems, phone system, networks, websites and the underlying infrastructure. They enjoy taking time to talk with non-technical users to understand their concerns and technical issues and then providing the right solution. They collaborate with the helpdesk on issues escalated to them within their areas of expertise and responsibilities. As project work arises, they partner with the systems architects and other members of the technology team to plan and implement solutions. They are self-motivated, organized and can balance being proactive in monitoring systems, planning minor upgrades and patching while prioritizing and fixing emergent issues that impact the business.
Principal Responsibilities:
Proactively build and maintain high levels of customer satisfaction and service across all of our corporate end users.
Provide technical support and collaborate with colleagues in planning business applications and their impact on the network and core infrastructure.
Plan and execute projects for upgrades to existing as well as to new server based business systems (hardware and software).
Monitor system resources and operations in order to ensure efficient and effective daily operations.
Prepare and document configurations, processes and procedures for business systems.
Provide 2nd level support for public facing web servers and internal corporate information systems on a rotating schedule (24x7 response coverage).
Continually analyze and identify opportunities for the business to effectively leverage technology for process improvements.
Forecast technology requirements and upgrades to existing technology to satisfy business groups.
Analyze and resolve end user hardware and software computer problems in a timely and accurate fashion, and provide support when required.
Mentor and train other team members on technologies, processes and tools to handle more complex issues/requests.

Job Requirements/Skill Specifications:
Education:
Must have a BS Degree and a minimum of 8 years of relevant IT experience, and
Certification(s) in VMware, Microsoft, Cisco, EMC, NetApp or Linux is desirable
Experience:
Must have at least six (6) years of solid systems and/or experience managing enterprise infrastructure and services with 300 or more servers and multiple data centers.
Administering virtualized environments on shared storage.
Architecting complex networks including LANs and WANs across multiple locations.
Administering Microsoft business systems such as Exchange and SharePoint
Managing Backup and Recovery systems (e.g. Symantec Backup Exec)
Skills:
Proven ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical people.
Ability to assess complex problems and investigate, develop, appraise, select, and present solutions.
Ability to work individually and in cross-functional teams with minimal amount of supervisory oversight.
Strong technical writing skills for documenting work.
Ability to plan and execute technical projects to meet internal client requirements and schedules.
Strong personal management skills in prioritizing and completing assignments.
Other Requirements:
Limited Travel
Occasionally requires evening and weekend work.
