Senior Systems Engineer Desktone

Summary
The senior systems engineer will be a member of the Desktone operations team and be responsible for system architecture, implementation, and support of the Desktone platform and the infrastructure surrounding it. Desktone is a fast paced, continually evolving, and energetic environment. A successful candidate must be a highly motivated individual who is willing to take on challenging initiatives and is capable of working both independently and with others as a team.
Responsibilities:
Design, deploy and maintain a mission-critical infrastructure
Document processes and procedures with an eye towards streamlining operations
Work closely with partners to design an infrastructure that meets the partner?s needs and is compatible with the Desktone platform.
Assist the Desktone operations team with general infrastructure tasks such as configuring servers, configuring switches, configuring network storage systems, and installing server virtualization software (e.g. VMware).
Occasionally work evenings and weekends as required for periodic off-hours maintenance
Willingness and ability to be in a 24x7 on call rotation
Some travel may be required
Required Qualifications
BS in Computer Science or other related technical degree
Experience with server virtualization technologies such as VMware vSphere, Citrix XenServer, or Microsoft Hyper-V
Experience using Linux and Windows operating systems
Strong L2 switching experience; comfortable with VLANs
Familiarity with IPSEC VPN, VRF, DNS, BIND
Knowledge of TCP/IP and UDP protocols
Desired Qualifications:
Industry certification (e.g. VMware, Cisco, Microsoft, etc.)
Experience with Cisco or Juniper networking (preferably both)
Knowledge of remote display protocols such as RDP and ICA/HDX
Prior experience with pf or iptables
Scripting or automation skills to streamline network configuration
Experience with protocol analyzers and network test equipment
