Summary:
Provides technical and administrative direction for personnel performing development tasks, including the review of work products for correctness, adherence to the design concept and to user standards, and for progress in accordance with schedules.
Qualification Requirements:
Education:
BS in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or other related scientific or technical discipline.
Experience:
8 or more years experience overseeing system development activities
Or equivalent:
Ph.D. 4 years of experience
MS and 6 years general experience
AA and 10 years of experience
No degree 12 years experience

Skills:
The systems engineers must be able to design and coordinate large and complex projects. The systems engineer will work at various levels in the design and coordination of the system. The systems engineer is responsible for coordinating the work of other engineers and work with the team to solve complex problems. The systems engineer must be able to gather all the necessary information/requirements about what is needed in a system. They will select several possible ways of designing the system and through systems analysis will determine the best solution.

Ability to multi-task and meet tight deadlines
Licensures, Certifications:
Certification might be required, depending on program requirements.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: (% of time)
Coordinates with appropriate levels to ensure problem solution and user satisfaction.
Makes recommendations, if needed, for approval of major systems installations.
Prepares milestone status reports and deliveries/presentations on the system concept to colleagues, subordinates, and end user representatives.
When required, provides daily supervision and direction to support staff.
Other duties as assigned
Systems Security analysis and implementation;
Program design and implementation;
System Engineering;
Electrical design;
Software development;
Design assurance;
Testing of Information Assurance products and systems;
Maintenance;
Integration of Information Assurance products and systems.
Certification at the IAT Level II: GSEC, Security+, SCNP or SSCP
Supervisory Responsibility:
Possible team leader responsibilities depending on project size and requirements
Scope of Responsibility:
As determined by the project size and requirements
Contacts:
Daily meetings with customer and project team.
Physical Demands:
Sitting in front of a computer on a daily basis
Working Conditions:
Assigned tasks are usually performed at the customer site on a daily basis.
