The ideal candidate for the position of the Senior Windows System Engineer will be individual who has "real world" experience architecting, designing, deploying, and managing a large-scale Windows Server infrastructure and Directory services in support of corporate standard and proprietary applications. The individual will be responsible for providing technical leadership to the NaviNet Technical Operations department in furthering the evolution of the infrastructure as they apply to NaviNet Production Application and Disaster Recovery/Business Continuity infrastructure(s) in support of major projects and day to day infrastructure support alike.
The individual will be ultimately responsible for the health and well being of the NaviNet Production SaaS/ASP infrastructure including but not limited to production collocation operations, production Windows Server Systems, the supporting infrastructure environmental components and other applications related to the NaviNet. The candidate will require extensive knowledge in the Microsoft Windows server operating environment (Windows 2003/2008, SQL Server 2000/2005/2008, Active Directory, SMTP, DNS, WINS, DFS, etc. The candidate will also have solid working knowledge of supporting technologies such as VMware Virtualization Platform(s) (VSphere 4) including VMware Cluster deployment, Physical to Virtual Migration (P2V) and tuning of the Virtual Infrastructure. Experience in storage administration (SAN/NAS) on the NetAppFlexpod platform and tuning of SAN infrastructure is a plus. The individual will be accountable to be the key stakeholder in all Internal IT infrastructures from on call and monitoring response to developing and maintaining inventory of services and systems and making recommendations toward the strategic roadmap of the internal IT infrastructure.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:(in order to be considered for this position, the individual must be able to perform essential functions listed below):
Manage the NaviNet Windows Systems and Active Directory environment in support of NaviNet?s collocated production environment as a primary engineer.
Be primarily responsible and accountable for the 24/7 run time environment including health monitoring, production change management and over all uptime of the infrastructure components of the production operation (hardware, operating systems, network, storage and supporting infrastructure) working closely with the Technical Operations technology engineering team, Application Support and Development to ensure the ongoing health, capacity planning and scalability of the production operating environment.
Act in a secondary capacity to other IT/Technical Operations engineers responsible for QA, Development and Internal IT infrastructure and critical projects across multiple data center locations.
Troubleshoot system and network interoperability issues in support of day to day operations as required.
Participate in system/network capacity planning and deployment in a rapidly evolving environment.
Create and maintain procedural and architectural documentation.
Evaluate and recommend upgrades, patches, application and equipment.
Participate in systems architecture design and implementation as needed or required.
Act as a technology ?owner? and primary point of escalation for all Technical Operations teams including Desktop/End User Support, Infrastructure, Computer Operations, Application Support and Security for Windows infrastructure, applications and virtualization platforms within the internal IT infrastructure environment.
Other duties as required and/or assigned.
Some minor travel may be required during major remote site rework and/or implementation

Ensure that Priority 1 and High Priority incidents are addressed with urgency.
Participate in post mortem activities and report generation as required.
Be available for occasional after-hours (24x7) support.
Document processes and workflows.

7+ years experience in desktop support and network administration in a Microsoft Windows 2000/XP/2003 environment.
5+ years experience in supporting Microsoft servers (NT, 2000, 2003, 2008).
Must have experience with VMWare: installation; configuration; admin duties.
Have installed and configured Active Directory under Windows 2003, 2008.
Experience in the management and deployment of desktop applications (MS Office, anti-virus, etc.).
Ability to configure/troubleshoot Cisco routers, firewalls, switches, and VPN concentrators.
Ability to install/troubleshoot/maintain Microsoft SQL Servers (including clustering).
Knowledge of Exchange 2010.
Scripting experience in Powershell, Python, Perl or Ruby a plus.
Provide knowledge transfer and mentoring for new team members.
Demonstrated experience in designing, deploying and supporting Microsoft Server, Directory architecture, DNS/WINS, DHCP, Network Access Control (NAC) preferably in support of revenue generating production applications in a multi-location environment.
Working knowledge of Virtualization Technologies; specifically the VMWareVSphere environment.
Demonstrated experience and knowledge in the Microsoft Enterprise Application Suite including but not limited to Microsoft Windows Server (2000, 2003, 2008), Microsoft SQL Server (2000, 2005, 2008), Microsoft Windows Storage Server, Distributed File System (DFS).
Working knowledge of SAN Platform Administration as back end virtualization and database disk via fiber channel and iSCSIa plus.
Experience managing remote, collocated data centers and operating via remote access technologies and leveraging ?remote hands? resources provided by collocations for system installation, break/fix replacement and troubleshooting with the ability to commute from the headquarter location to the co-location in Waltham, MA as needed.
Proven track record of working within a project/service development lifecycle; driving requirements, prototyping solutions, assisting development and QA, creating deployment plans, and project managing rollout of new streaming services or enhancements to existing services.
Excellent time management and project management skills with the ability to create strategic and tactical plans, schedules, milestones, and manage accordingly.
Strong communication; verbal and written, and collaboration skills .
