Senior Systems/Network Administrator Empirix

Empirix created an IT engineering position to join the team responsible for infrastructure administration and management of 24x7 network operations center, corporate business systems, global server infrastructure, and mission-critical production systems.


We seek a hands-on individual with a broad set of IT skills with corporate systems and networks including: MS Windows Server 2008 management including Microsoft Active Directory; LAN/WAN technical support and security; redundant systems support (VMWARE etc.); network monitoring and troubleshooting; and SQL servers build and maintenance.


The Sys/NW Admin will join an established IT team of 4, and work at Empirix HQ on Crosby Drive in Bedford, MA. The individual must be a hands-on professional, able to work independently, and have a track record of network/systems management in a 24x7 environment.

Network monitoring - Solid understanding of network troubleshooting and analysis, network management protocols, performance management tools and protocol analyzers, with proven skills in tools such as Wireshark and Checkpoint
Active Directory - Experience maintaining multisite, multi domain AD deployments with ability to proactively monitor and correct problems before they impact production
Network Security knowledge; certifications a plus. CISSP, MCSE, CCNA, or other industry recognized certification a plus
Database Administration - Experience building and maintaining SQL servers; advanced skills with DB tools a plus


Ideal Candidate Profile:

Hands-on systems and network professional with broad technical skills for administration and support of IT Infrastructure
Proficient in network technology ? troubleshoot networks based on solid understanding of network concepts
Has worked for small companies and/or Web companies or in a customer-facing IT environment whose core business depends on 100% systems/network performance
Experience supporting Engineering groups in both UNIX and Windows OS
Technical certifications a plus
