Tech Writer / Software Documentation
Works side by side with engineering to write, edit and revise documentation for product and solutions development, support services, and customer/end-user activities. Retrieves, organizes, analyzes and synthesizes complex subject matter and transforms it into clear, concise and easy-to-understand information for many different audiences, in a wide variety of formats. Must understand each product, how it works and its value add to the product. Employs various authoring and desktop publishing software tools to produce finished products that include printed or electronic publications and integrated online help systems. Uses feedback to recommend ideas for improved product development and support services to further support the business. Responsible for developing or executing project plans and schedules, and delivering accurate and timely documentation.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Participates in planning the overall design of software product documentation, including installation, operation, and maintenance instructions, as well as other technical publications, such as technical advisories and release notes, in a variety of media, including web pages, wikis, videos, online help systems and animated tours.
Exerts sphere of influence outside of work group/department; offers proposed design changes and suggestions to processes and product.
Collaborates cross-functionally to accomplish objectives and voluntarily shares information, while fostering teamwork.
Actively seeks customer input, and may take responsibility for customer situations (internal and external customers).
Exercises considerable latitude in determining technical objectives, without appreciable direction.
Develops solutions to complex problems, which require regular use of ingenuity and creativity and contributes proactively to the development of new theories and methods.
Implements project management strategies and manages internationalization/localization projects with outside vendors.
Leverages a variety of information sources including bug comments, whiteboard discussions, community forums, 3rd party web content, conversational knowledge transfer, and documentation
Participates in UI development by refining workflows and providing label/in-product verbiage.
Writes examples of queries, code snippets, or other code for user scenarios.
Manages source control check-ins and output, branching and code management.
Must understand the Agile development environment.
Ability to analyze information and draw accurate conclusions.
Understanding of Sales environments, sales methodologies, relevant user personas and flows and CRM applications is highly desirable
Knowledge of job associated database/software/documentation.

Education Required: Bachelors (Non -Technical)
Experience Required: Minimum 7 years relevant experience
