Senior Technical Operations Data Engineer Adchemy

The Senior Technical Operations Data Engineer will ensure the deployment, high availability, performance, and scalability of Adchemy data systems, storage, and software.

Responsibilities:

Design and implement solutions that support the data storage, logs, databases, and other critical data files.
Install, upgrade, configure, and tune Linux Database systems including hardware, system software, and applications.
Analyze system errors as well as specific server / storage performance issues.
Formulate and implement monitoring, security, and availability policies, procedures and standards relating to server and storage management.
Perform database backup and recovery.
Manage database updates to production using SQL scripts or other automation technologies.
Manage database storage and backups.
Script and/or develop in-depth application and database monitoring tools and recovery mechanisms.
Background in tuning and optimizing of MySQL, Oracle, Postgres environments as well as diagnosing and solving performance issues.
Ownership of analytics infrastructure and platform, using technologies like Cassandra, Hadoop, and other 'Big Data' solutions.

Experience:

5+ years systems administration experience in a production Linux environment supporting large data platforms.
Strong scripting and automation skills with bash, perl, python, java, or ruby.
Extensive knowledge and experience in Linux networking services and protocols: TCP/IP, DNS, NFS, LDAP, FTP, SSH, SMTP, SNMP, SSL
Knowledge of storage optimization and solutions like NetApp, Hitachi, Isilon, and open-source distributed filesystems.
Demonstrated understanding of Linux, MySQL clusters and replication.
Expertise with Amazon EC2 or Rightscale supporting production applications a plus.
Experience with Postgres a plus.
