Senior Technical Writer Palo Alto Networks

Responsibilities:

Work with the technical publications team to define and implement innovative user assistance strategies that help our customers configure and use Palo Alto Networks next-generation firewalls.
Design and develop user assistance materials (topic-based solutions, context-sensitive help, embedded help, video tutorials, release notes, administrative, quick start, installation, API, and reference guides) using single-sourcing techniques that allow for reuse of content across multiple formats and deliverables.
Plan, research, write, and test all assigned content.
Work closely with product management, QA, development, support, and SEs to ensure accuracy of content and relevance to real-world deployment scenarios.
Coordinate the translation process for assigned projects.
Help coordinate and review selected technical documents created by other groups in the company.

Qualifications:

Must have a good knowledge and background of networking and security products, including an ability to perform basic configuration of these products.
Knowledge of latest trends in user assistance design and methodologies.
Ability to explain complex technical features in simple to understand use case and configuration steps.
Strong initiative and ability to work independently with limited direction.
Minimum 3-5 years of technical writing for a networking or network security company.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Must be proficient with FrameMaker, WebWorks ePublisher, and AcrobatPro. Experience with Camtasia, Adobe CQ5, Illustrator, and/or InDesign a plus.
Experience with task-oriented, topic-based writing.
