Education Required:
BS in Life Sciences (Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry or Molecular Biology) or related field, or equivalent experience
A certificate in technical writing is a plus
Experience Required:
? 5 ? 10 years technical writing, with experience in planning and writing user documentation for biomedical or research lab instrumentation and applications, medical devices or informatics software
? Strong verbal and written English communication skills with examples of written work on commercial life science products
Primary Role:
? Produce accurate, clearly presented, consistent technical documentation on time for product shipment
? Use skills as seasoned, experienced professional with full understanding of industry practices and company policies and procedures
? Require no instruction on day-to-day work, general instruction in new assignments
Job Responsibilities:
Primary Responsibilities:
? Plan, develop and maintain technical user documentation, including user guides, quick reference cards, protocols, data sheets and online content, for laboratory instrumentation and reagent kits
? Create new or revise existing documentation using hands-on experience with the products, product specifications and information from subject matter experts
? Plan, develop and maintain technical service documentation and related content
? Create product marketing content as needed
? Produce related graphics and specify/coordinate graphics production with creative services staff
? Manage the technical review and final review process for documents and prepare documents for production
? Ensure accuracy, clarity, appropriateness and consistency of documents
? Prioritize and complete multiple projects to meet rapid development timelines
Secondary Responsibilities:
? Assist in developing company style guide and technical communications procedures
? Work with marketing product managers to identify and document target customer needs
? Maintain technical competence on IntegenX products, competitive products and the marketplace through reading and attendance of training meetings, industry conferences and research
? Attend project meetings, and sales and marketing meetings as required
Skills Required:
? Advanced expertise with FrameMaker, Acrobat, MS Word
? Proficiency with Illustrator, Photoshop or other graphic editing tools. Experience with InDesign is a plus.
? Strong project management and scheduling skills, and agility in working on multiple projects concurrently to meet deadlines, with minimal help. Ability to meet project quality expectations and schedule commitments.
? Writing skills that include developing document plans and indexing, and strong editing skills
? Experience writing instrument service documentation is a plus
? Experience in creating online help and/or E-learning course design and development is a plus.
? Video and photography skills are a plus.

? In-depth understanding of customer business, goals and objectives, strategies and needs
? Demonstrated success working in a fast-paced, team-oriented startup environment
