POSITION: Senior Technical Writer

LOCATION: Toronto

SUMMARY:

The position will be responsible for all phases of documentation for software products. A successful candidate will work with key contributors within the organization, including software developers, testers, business analysts, product managers and R&D managers to effectively produce software user manuals and technical documentation.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop end-user documents (including on-line help where applicable)
• Develop technical documentation including documentation to be used by technical consultants and client developers as it relates to customizing the application
• Lead and mentor junior technical writer

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

• BS degree, complemented by certificate/degree in Technical Writing, English or Communications
• Relevant business experience with strong emphasis on WFM

Required Skills:

• 5+ years of experience as technical writer for a R&D organization
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Skilled with Adobe FrameMaker, Acrobat, etc
• Basic understanding of software development life cycle
• Must be a self-starter and able to lead a team of junior technical writer
• Ability to work with cross-functional project teams across multiple locations.
