The Senior Test Engineer develops production test solutions for high-volume RF transmit products for mobile applications. These include both packaged- and wafer-level known good die (KGD) implementations on both proprietary and industry platforms.
The role includes the design of the solution architecture, hardware and software, in addition to evaluation and release of the solution to production. The candidate will be a key contributor to our best-in-class mobile wireless RF transmit products based on Peregrine Semiconductor?s proprietary UltraCMOS? process technology.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Design and specify hardware and software platforms used in production RF IC test
Develop engineering and production DC wafer sort, RF wafer sort and RF package final test
Transfer production test to production test vendor
Provide measurement system analysis (GRR), quality system and SPC knowledge
Support new product introductions in defining test plans.
Knowledge, Skill and Competency Requirements:
In-depth knowledge of Analog and Radio Frequency (RF) principles
RF measurement of Power, Gain, IP3, Noise Figure
RF measurement of ACLR, EVM, VSWR
Demonstrative understanding of analog/digital circuit test, measurement methodologies and test equipment for IC- and module-level testing
Demonstrated record of releasing high-volume RF products into production environment
Proficiency in multiple programming languages including ANSI C
Experience with National Instruments CVI
LabView a plus
Good understanding of Gaussian statistics and their applications
Working knowledge of production ATE systems
Experience with industry RF test platforms (e.g., Credence Duo/Quartet, Roos, Teredyne Catalyst).
The following traits are highly valued:
RF chain analysis of Power, Gain, IP3, Noise Figure
Experience in electrical design, simulation, layout of the test solution hardware including Electromagnet Simulation
Experience with industry RF test platforms (e.g., Credence Duo/Quartet, Roos, Teredyne Catalyst) or rack and stack or VXI/PXI-based test platforms
Knowledge of 3GPP standards including GSM, EDGE, WCDMA and LTE
Demonstrated support of off-shore test facility
High-volume RF wafer probe experience
Experience with EG4080 prober and SE probe software
Strength in documentation clarity and completeness
Knowledge of SPI, I2C, or MIPI RFFE digital interfaces
Hands-on use of RF measurement equipment to validate performance
Experience with the following software tools: JMP, ADS, Matlab, MS Project, Datapower, LabView, Agile.
Education and Experience:
BSEE/CS or equivalent minimum; MS preferred
5+ years of relevant experience.
