Imperva Inc., the leader in Data Security, is looking for a high energy and customer centric Senior Trainer and Curriculum Developer to join the Global Professional Services Team. In this highly impactful role, you will be responsible for on-site and Imperva-hosted product training to a global audience. It is a unique opportunity for someone who enjoys the discovery of how technology is configured and then is able to capture and document the intricacies of the solution and deliver it to an audience of Professional Services, Implementation Partners, Customer Success (Support) and Security Engineers (Pre-Sales). You will consult in all phases of the training design and development process, including customer consultation, training needs assessment, specification of training objectives, content outline design, curriculum development, and certification development. Additionally, you will consult directly with customers to identify business objectives and issues which may require training solutions and ensure training objectives are specified and translate to training solutions. The successful candidate must be a self-starter, capable of being highly productive, both while on the road and while working from a home-based office. Ideally this person will be based in Dallas, TX, or Corporate HQ in Redwood City, CA.
Additional Responsibilities:
Deliver technical training concepts to wide range of customers, partner and Imperva employees on a global basis
Develop professional quality technical courseware and lab manuals;
Update training documents on a consistent basis and work closely with subject matter experts to evaluate and revise training tools as appropriate
Develop professional quality certification questions and virtualized practical lab scenarios
Critique the success/failure of testers on practical labs
Incorporate best practices and techniques from a training and learning standpoint
Remain current on new product rollouts and incorporate new features/functionality into training material
Skills and Experience:
This position requires strong technical skills and solid experience working with Internet Security, Networking Technologies and Relational Databases
Experience delivering training to post-sales customers and partners
Ability to outline, develop, write and edit technical courseware and quality technical certification questions
Able to define the success criteria and judge the acceptable completion of an online certification practical exam
Extensive experience using Visio, PowerPoint, Word and VMware
Training skills must include the ability to motivate and maintain the interest of participants for several days
Self-starter and independent but also able to contribute to a cooperative courseware development team effort
Able to accept constructive criticism and implement relevant changes
An aptitude for mastering new software applications
Ability to understand and communicate concepts quickly, succinctly and accurately
Highly motivated, driven and passionate about technology, training & certification
Excellent written and verbal communications skills
Able to plan for and deliver on a project on a deadline
Qualifications:
3-5 years of experience in a similar position
Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
Deep knowledge of TCP/IP, HTTP, Load balancers, proxies and firewalls
Deep knowledge of Databases ? preferably MS-SQL, Oracle, and MySQL
Deep knowledge of operating systems such as Linux, Windows, and VMware ESX
Bachelors degree or equivalent experience
Willing and capable to travel both Domestically and Internationally
Willing and capable of working from home
