About the Position

As a Senior UI Engineer at Magi.com, you will work closely with product management, engineering, and designers to create compelling web experiences.

You must have a passion for this kind of work; this is more than a day job.

Responsibilities
? Create front end experiences using modern web development technologies and standards including: HTML5, knockout, unobtrusive AJAX, less, and jQuery.
? Develop server-side front end code using C# and ASP.NET MVC.
? Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define and build the user experience.
? Play a leadership role by connecting with the UI developer community to keep abreast of the latest trends and emerging techniques.

Requirements
? Experience developing professional, cross-browser compatible user interfaces.
? Expert-level understanding of HTTP, IIS, HTML5, CSS3, Javascript + jQuery + JSON.
? Well-versed with code optimization and software design principles.
? Must understand and be able to explain how a modern web application works from browser to backend.
? An insatiable gamer.
? Appreciate and write well-documented, well-formatted code.
? Follow web standards.
? Believe simple code is elegant code.
? Can accurately estimate work within a team environment to meet deadlines.
? Can handle the pressure, fluidity, and excitement of a start-up.
? Can work effectively both independently as well as a member of a team.
? Are more than a cog in the machine.

Additional Preferred Skills
? At least 3 years work experience.
? BS degree or higher, preferably in Computer Science.
? Experience with one or more MVC frameworks, preferably ASP.NET MVC.
? Portfolio that includes sample web-based projects.
? Understanding of the social networking space.
