The Senior User Experience Designer is responsible for design and maintenance of UI designs for Connecture?s sales and service automation product suite. This role demands a high percentage of hands-on development, UX design skill, and general Web-based tools proficiency. As a vital contributor, the Senior User Experience Designer needs to understand client requirements and translate them into user-interface designs. In addition, this position will work with our internal product development, product engineering, and marketing teams to design the look and feel for our software application interface, as well as creating navigation maps, wireframes, etc. In addition, they will work with the Marketing team from time to time to design and update the company?s corporate Web site.
The Senior User Experience Designer must collaborate with programmers, engineers, client service representatives, product management, and marketing during design phase to gain an understanding of the product and have experience to develop high level and detailed storyboards, mockups and prototypes to effectively communicate interaction and design ideas. This position requires excellent oral and written communication skills and an understanding of programming concepts, operating systems and/or networking.
Roles and Responsibilities
The essential responsibilities of the Senior User Experience Designer are to:
?Guide development team on UI Deliverables
?Review consistency and quality
?Develop detailed user interface Specifications
?Maintain consistency within the product pattern library
?Develop early sketch and wireframe Documents
?Build functional design click-through prototypes
?Feed the agile development machine
?Conduct stakeholder interviews with product management
?Guide development of new sales demo
?Develop user stories for project teams
?Consult with clients on best practices for configuration to accommodate user need
?Develop internal implementation guidelines and evangelize UX
?Develop engaging and professional visual style guides
?Build mood boards and visual pattern libraries for re-use
?Develop product brand guidelines and usage guides
?Understand design-related usability feedback and suggest visual design
?changes to solve key problems
?Write appropriate and helpful content to appropriately set user expectations and mitigate user confusion
?Conduct site-wide content reviews
?Review site analytics to identify user issues and site utilization
?Set key UX goals for new projects Document areas to be tracked for new projects Conduct multi-variate testing on new design concepts
?Develop user scenarios and stories across multiple workflows
?Work with product analysts to develop ideal process flows to improve site usability
?Ensure site consistency across user roles
?Develop site design patterns and guides for implementation
?Write test scripts for un-moderated usability testing
?Conduct user interviews and moderate in person usability tests
?Guide development of advanced prototypes for testing
?Conduct accessibility testing
?Develop test plans and key goals for new development
?Translate research findings into design recommendations
?Present finding to cross-functional leadership teams
?Build accurate user profiles and personas to guide development
?Conduct user interviews and field research
?Build database of user information and need
?Design user experience maps to identify key user challenges
?Present finding to cross-functional leadership teams
?A BS/BA Degree in Computer Science, Human Factors, Graphic Design or related field desired or equivalent work experience
?6-9 years of user center design experience.
?Knowledge of human factors and UI concepts.
?Successful track record in the implementation of UI models.
?Excellent communication skills.
?Knowledge of user interface design principles, web design best practices, and web standards.
?Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
?Must be able to build consensus.
?Must understand and be able to review usability test feedback.
?Excellent track record designing web-based applications.
?Experience creating information architecture design deliverables.
?Expertise with web standards in HTML, CSS, and JS.
?Experience with graphic design.
?Experience designing consumer oriented web-based interfaces.
?Creative and detail-oriented.
?Ability to respond strongly and positively to challenging work and deadlines.
