Job DescriptionPatientsLikeMe is an exciting company in the social health space that builds data-oriented patient communities. Our product is evolving and we?re building a team of visual, UX and design researchers who will play a key role in helping us get there. You?ll collaborate as peers with our in-house team of healthcare professionals, community managers, marketers and developers to help us create an engaging platform that meets our members? needs for social support, tracking health data, finding answers to key questions, enabling participation in research and advocacy and ultimately becoming more empowered patients. Must haves
A portfolio demonstrating intelligent problem solving and the ability to execute beautiful and usable interface designs
A passion for delighting users and deeply understanding human needs
A strong eye for layout, color, typography and iconography
Requirements
Use personas and scenarios to drive and communicate about design
Lead whiteboard ideation with sketches & storyboards
Assess user and business needs, then propose content and functionality that meet them
Translate sketches into detailed pixel-level designs (using an established visual system and with a visual designer doing the final pass)
Draft clear & compelling interface text
Clearly communicate design with the minimum necessary documentation
Develop data visualizations that make complicated information easy to understand
Back-up design decisions with a clearly articulated rationale
Desirable
Great communication skills - both written and verbal
5+ years of related experience
Familiarity with agile development processes
Design research skills
Agency experience
Understanding patient needs, the healthcare industry and design for social software
