The Senior User Interface Engineer will own the design and implementation of user interfaces for Silver Peak's dynamic configuration, reporting and charting engine. This engine is a sophisticated component of Silver Peak's Global Management System (GMS) and is used by Silver Peak's customers such as Apple, VMware, Facebook, Dell, Google, AT&T, etc, to configure networks, track trends, monitor performance and diagnose bottlenecks in their Silver Peak optimized Wide Area Network. The GMS is also the Silver Peak?s interface to virtual infrastructure managers such as VMware?s vCenter and Microsoft?s System Center as well as SDN controllers and protocols. In addition to direct development responsibilities, the Senior User Experience Engineer will participate in all architectural, technology and productivity tool selection decisions related to the user interface. The primary requirement for this position is a demonstrable aptitude for developing intuitive, interactive and simple user interfaces. A basic understanding of networking will be an asset but not a necessity.Responsibilities
Design and implement a rich, intuitive and scalable configuration and reporting interface
Own design schedules, milestones and deliverables
Participate in and drive architectural and technology decisions
Implement a highly unit testable code structure
Requirements
B.Sc. in Computer Science, Engineering or Mathematics
Evidence and examples of previously developed modern web based user interfaces
Minimum of 2 years professional experience
Experience with JavaScript, AJAX, JQuery, JSON, Python, and PHP based user interface development
Experience with server based technologies based on Java and MySQL
Experience with other user interface technologies like Django, GWT and Flash
