This position will be responsible for developing the visual design of the MaxPoint product suite. This position will work closely with Product Management, User Interaction Designer, User Interface Developers and end users to develop easy to use, awesome, front end designs. This person will be instrumental in designing our internal applications, external applications and potentially a new corporate website.

This position will be instrumental in enhancing the look of our most widely used products in ways that make them as visually engaging as there are intuitive. Responsibilities
Create superior visual concepts and interface designs that convey our design goals and are enticing for users.
Work in conjunction with the User Interaction Designer to develop new approaches to complex design problems and the ability to convey these designs in the form of comps and design specifications
Embraces emerging technologies and has an innate passion for visual design within an interactive context
Articulates and presents design concepts and iterations of design to internal groups for feedback and buy-in. Ability to educate as well as accept constructive feedback.
Translates complex user tasks/behaviors and data visualizations into engaging, intuitive interfaces
Advise and engage on front end interaction options to develop applications including actively participating in brainstorming and solution generation.
Develop comps for use by the engineering teams building applications that provide a consistent, branded user experience
Provide backup to interaction designer position when needed
Candidate must possess the ability to multi-task across projects with an emphasis on prioritizing
Ability to converse with engineers and easily communicate ideas; Desire and need to work with other teams
Position will work in tandem with a User Interface Designer as well as Product Management and a User Interface Engineering team.
Position will develop personas, scenarios, storyboards, page/process flow, visual comps, design specifications, style guides, etc.
The ideal candidate will work as a hands-on UI designer and be responsible for delivering all aspects of the visual and graphic design of various MaxPoint digital properties
Ability to communicate and advocate for your ideas to drive buy-in and engagement across the organization.
Provide back up to marketing design needs on an ad hoc basis
Preferred Skills
Expert knowledge in user experience principles, graphic design principles, and web standards
Experience with Ajax, Java Script, JQuery, HTML, XHTML, XML, XSLT, CSS, and DHTML
Experience working in a small, fast-paced, collaborative environment
Dedication to excellent design and working quickly and iteratively
Experience in Mobile Design a plus
Experience creating and running user testing and beta programs a plus
Qualifications
A high quality portfolio that can be viewed online
Degree in graphic design, visual design, interaction design, or other related fields
5-10 years of software design experience
