We're looking for a Senior UX engineer to join our nimble Nitro Cloud engineering team at our HQ in San Francisco. Over the past year this team has built a paid document management web application; next step: introducing it to millions of Nitro users. In this role, you will work closely with our VP of Product Engineering to ensure our users have the optimal experience when interacting with Nitro's cloud services.
What you'll be doing:
First and foremost, you?ll be building killer web applications for our users and customers (including the Nitro team) that complement our desktop products
Working closely with a no-bullshit tightly-knit flat engineering team to architect, deliver, and improve technical solutions that delight our users
Pushing the envelope on what's possible and applying pragmatic approaches to building sustainable solutions
Fixing and optimizing anything you find broken and important
Helping establish best engineering practices and educating others around you about them
Mentoring other engineers on best UX practices
Owning engineering of entire features
Hands on low to medium fidelity prototyping (e.g. take design from wireframes to working HTML+CSS+JS interaction prototypes)
Working closely with product and design teams to deliver a great user experience by paying attention to detail, being thorough, aiming for pixel perfection, ensuring multi-browser support, keeping solutions simple and building on them iteratively
Defining key success metrics and monitor them to inspire product improvements
Figuring out how to run lean and agile without burning out
What we're looking for:
A partner in revolutionizing document management user experience
A well-rounded engineer and a front-end wizard who builds with keeping users foremost on his mind
5+ years of experience with leading UX engineering for freemium productivity apps
5+ years of experience with large codebases or complex business applications
Start-up experience and ability to multi task, define your own role and help wherever necessary
Someone who can help distill the vision and evolve it to a product serving millions
Ability to move fast and distinguish signal from noise in everyday work life
Extensive experience with agile development and iterative product evolution
Experience with metric-informed approach to improving user experience and is accustomed to running A/B tests, looking at cohort behavior
Passion - and lots of it
Traits that will distinguish the ultimate candidate:
Experience with enterprise web productivity applications
Experience with Play! framework or other Java enterprise web frameworks that include Spring, Hibernate, PostgreSQL, ...
Proven track record of creating commercial software used at a large scale
Experience with building for Freemium user experience
Optimizing user behavior for virality
Killer UX portfolio that speaks for itself
