Job DescriptionPatientsLikeMe is an exciting company in the social health space that builds data-oriented patient communities. Our product is evolving and we?re building a team of visual, UX and design researchers who will play a key role in helping us get there. You?ll collaborate as peers with our in-house team of healthcare professionals, community managers, marketers and developers to help us create an engaging platform that meets our members? needs for social support, tracking health data, finding answers to key questions, enabling participation in research and advocacy and ultimately becoming more empowered patients. Creating beautifully crafted interfaces
Delighting users and deeply understanding human needs
Must haves
A strong eye for layout, color, typography and iconography
A portfolio demonstrating intelligent problem solving and the ability to execute beautiful and usable interface designs
Attention to detail
Requirements
Taking sketches, wireframes or user flows and translating them into beautifully crafted pixels
Collaborating with interaction designers to ensure simple & consistent screens
Working with developers to balance ideal visual expression and implementable CSS & responsive design
Developing data visualizations that make complicated information easy to understand
Documenting and updating design patterns and style guides
Crafting polished icons when needed
Desirable
Great communication skills - both written and verbal
5+ years of related experience
Familiarity with agile development processes
User experience or design research skills
Agency experience
Understanding patient needs, the healthcare industry and social software
