Senior VMware Systems Engineer MacStadium, Inc.
THIS JOB HAS EXPIRED This technical role works closely with potential and existing customers to ensure the experience with client's product set exceeds all expectations. Existing customers include multiple Fortune 500, international and government organizations and managed service providers with hundreds of ESX host environments. --Strong understanding of VMware vSphere and ESX technologies
--Solid understanding of virtual and physical network and security concepts and practices
--Solid understanding of Linux operating systems and command line operations
--Working knowledge of data center management concepts and practices
--Proficient in Windows 2003/2008/XP/Vista/7
--Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills
--Must have strong written and verbal communication skills
--Provide customers with highly-skilled technical assistance and guidance to resolve a variety of software and integration issues as well as prevent recurring problems
--Work with some of the largest and most complex VMware system and network infrastructures in the industry
--Develop and maintain strong relations with customers
--Develop and maintain automation scripts
--Provide guidance to Quality Assurance and user experience test team
--Document, track and update customer interactions in case management system
--Provide remote customer training and installation help via WebEx or similar technologies.
--Assist in the creation and maintenance of support documentation and product user guides.
--Assist in the creation and maintenance of product training materials
--Improve and develop technical skills through outside education, self-study, etc.
--Provide management with status reports
--Normal business hours plus rotating "on call" service.

|Company Profile:||MacStadium was custom built from the ground up to facilitate the hosting of Mac mini's in the most efficient environment possible. The heart of the MacStadium is a 1,000 sq feet secure cage in our own privately owned SAE16 and PCI DSS certified data center.
Inside the MacStadium cages are custom fabricated racks using a patent pending design capable of seating 460 Mac mini's each. Each seated Mac mini has its own remotely controlled APC power switch and dedicated Ethernet ports for both Internet connectivity and optional iSCSI SAN storage. Each Mac mini's uncapped 100Mb Internet connection is diversely connected to a pair of Cisco 6500 core switches, which are in turn connected to our double redundant Juniper core routing infrastructure.
