Senior Web Application Developer

The software enables Corporate, Governmental, and educational institutions (universities, colleges, K12 schools) to offer their courses online.
Moodlerooms is looking for a highly qualified and motivated Senior Web Application Developer to be a key member of their Product Development team. The Senior Developer should be seen as a technical expert among his peers, and will be responsible for developing highly configurable, scalable and secure solutions for deployment in a SaaS environment. The successful candidate must be able to function in a high growth business that is technologically sophisticated, high performance and high demand. Architect, enhance and maintain our flagship products based on the open source software Moodle, as well as supporting subsystems.
Deliver high-quality products for a superior user experience.
Create technical documentation and assist with handoff to Quality Assurance, Technical Operations and Support teams.
Train, coach, code review and deliver feedback to other members of the development team.
Provide technical expertise to team members for performance, usability, reuse and security.
Work directly with Moodle open source developers, including peer review and code submission.
A four-year college degree and four to six years of experience in commercial software development OR, a masters degree in computer science and three to five years of experience in enterprise software development on the Linux, Apache, MySQL and PHP (LAMP) stack.
Development experience enhancing and optimizing SaaS software preferred.
2+ years of experience with Learning Management System (Moodle preferred), Student Information System, or IMS Global Learning Consortium development. Experience with large scale open source applications, such as Drupal, can supplement a lack of educational technology experience.
Ability to reliably work in a fast paced technical environment with tight deadlines.
