Based in Houston, TX, Alert Logic is searching for an experienced Senior Web Application Developer to join our highly motivated and skilled software development team. The successful candidate will be equipped to take ownership of independent tasks and work in a fast paced agile environment with minimal supervision. We are looking for an individual to assist our team in building highly scalable SaaS web based applications utilized by our network security and compliance customers.Alert Logic Security-as-a-Service offers service providers and enterprise customers four distinct advantages: market leading security tools, a fully outsourced and managed SaaS delivery model, integrated 24x7 Security Operations Center (SOC) services to monitor and provide expert guidance, and the ability to deploy wherever a customer has IT infrastructure -- including the cloud. With more than half of the largest managed hosting and cloud service providers using these services to secure their customer environments, Alert Logic is increasingly viewed as the de facto standard for securing infrastructure in hosted and cloud environments.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with Architect, Product and Team Lead to insure consistent, well-documented design and implementation of new UI components
Work independently to implement complex engineering solutions while ensuring design and interface consistency
Required Skills:
5+ years of hands on experience designing and developing components for enterprise web applications supporting multiple browsers and browser versions
Proven handson experience developing enterprise web applications with object oriented PHP
Strong understanding of using XHTML, CSS, and JavaScript to develop richly interactive AJAX applications
Experience developing UI components in a service oriented architecture, or developing web applications against REST, SOAP, or XML-RPC APIs
Preferred Skills:
Experience developing complex applications outside of existing web application frameworks
Strong understanding of web standards, design patterns, and browser compatibility issues is a plus
Sharp eye for usability issues and general interface design is a plus
Experience developing applications that communicate with MySQL is a plus
Experience with functional programming languages (Erlang, LISP, Haskell) is a plus
Security operations experience or network security experience is a plus.
Demonstrated leadership experience leading a team of at least 1-2 people or proven intense project leadership experience.
