THIS JOB HAS EXPIRED Babcox Media, Inc. (www.babcox.com), an Akron, Ohio-based B-to-B print, digital, and video media company with concentration in the automotive aftermarket, powersports, and truck fleet industries is seeking a superior candidate to join its growing eMedia operations.
This position involves leading web development throughout the entire publishing/media operations including championing development projects for new revenue initiatives. The right individual for this role will be a motivated and energetic developer who takes initiative, enjoys finding solutions to a varying number of challenges and takes extreme pride in their work. The position will provide the freedom of building and maintaining websites and other digital technologies demanding leadership, creativity, and multi-faceted skills in collaboration with a team of passionate editors and eMedia professionals.
REQUIREMENTS & SKILLS:
? Bachelor?s degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience.
? Familiarity with WordPress, Drupal, and other open source content management platforms.
? A solid understanding of web application development processes, from the layout/user interface to relational database structures.
? Understanding the benefits of SEO and the development skills to support SEO
? Development experience using extensible web authoring tools
? Experience developing and implementing open source software projects
? Ability to communicate directly with a variety of employees while leading development to a completed and successful solution.
? Strong organization skills to prioritize initiatives, manage multiple timelines, and complete tasks quickly within the constraints of timelines and budgets.
? Self-starter with solid interpersonal skills, projecting a very positive, customer-service-oriented attitude.
? Champion programming/development over 20 websites, eNewsletters, and all supporting technologies
? Provide overall direction in the analysis and selection of next step solution for core Content Management System. Additionally, lead the charge for migrating existing sites to new platform and providing ongoing plan for support.
? Work with eMedia Director and staff on new digital initiatives that will grow substantial revenue streams for the organization.
? Analyze new project needs and determine appropriate architecture, and other technical solutions, and make strong recommendations and decisions
? Determine the need for outside development and manage contractors with a focus on results, budget, and timelines.
? Hire, develop and lead internal development staff anticipating departmental growth with proactive management
? Continually investigate new technologies for revenue generating ideas, increased efficiencies and cost savings potential.
