Hours: 8:00 a.m. ? 5:00 p.m.
This is a unique opportunity for a web application developer in enhancing RJO?s external profile as defined by our web presence.
The successful candidate will work with peers in the development team as well as key business stakeholders in executing client facing requirements. The candidate will be responsible for all phases of the development cycle. This role requires hands on technical involvement as well as design, requirements capture, planning and status reporting.
The role will involve coordination and collaboration with other members of the development, infrastructure and database teams.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Document stakeholder requirements and objectives.
Convert business and technical requirements into an implementation roadmap that identifies quick turn-around items as well as longer term strategic objectives.
Hands on technical implementation.
Ability to effectively translate requirements into wireframes or HTML prototypes.
Ability to design HTML prototypes and visual interfaces and interactions for web-based applications.
Follow good development practices and software development life cycle methodologies throughout product development.
Follow and contribute to company standards for documentation, GUI design and programming techniques.
Interact directly with stakeholders; be able to convert Technology concepts to non- technical staff.
Confirm requirements before implementation.
Communicate on status and issues to stakeholders and IT management on daily basis.
Extensive PHP experience with a focus on object orientated PHP ? knowledge of the Yii framework a plus.
Extensive experience of the following web technologies:
o HTML 4 &5
o CSS 2 &3
Good working knowledge of popular web frameworks such as bootstrap and foundation.
Good working knowledge of MS SQL Server and T-SQL.
Good working knowledge of the Apache web server, its configuration and its management.
Good design skills using design products such as Photoshop and Illustrator.
Good understanding of user interface design (UI), user experience design (UX) and responsive web design - a portfolio of web applications is required.
Experience with search engine optimization (SEO).
Experience using content management frameworks (CMS).
Knowledgeable of software patterns specifically Model/View/Controller(MVC) and Data Access Objects (DAO).
Proven track record in the development of secure web implementations that required authentication and authorization (HTTP vs. HTTPS).
Sales and marketing business experience.
Trading industry, preferably derivatives trading and within a Futures Commission Merchant is a plus.
APEX (salesforce) development knowledge a plus.
Proven communication skills.
Proven track record in managing small projects.
Proactive, innovative attitude.
Bachelor?s degree or relevant industry experience.
