Ruckus Wireless has an immediate opening position for a Senior WiFi Embedded Software Engineer in our Sunnyvale Headquarters office. The candidate will be responsible for WiFi software development and resolving technical issues observed by test engineers and customer support engineers in Ruckus Wi-Fi access point products.Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and troubleshoot technical features related to 802.11 and networking in an embedded Linux system
Analyze existing code and instrument custom trace code as required to diagnose and resolve issues related to functionality, interoperability, and stability
Take initiative to gather prior knowledge from bug reports, past email and directly from coworkers, and apply the knowledge to effectively execute each task
Qualifications:
5+ years of work experience implementing C software for switching/routing platforms
3+ years of work experience developing embedded Linux software for wireless networking platforms
Strong knowledge of 802.11 wireless protocols, including 802.11 message exchange from power-on to association, power saving modes, packet aggregation, Wi-Fi security modes, Wi-Fi QoS/WMM
Strong embedded Linux software development and debugging skills
Outstanding analytical and troubleshooting skills
Solid understanding of bridging, routing, and network protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, DHCP, ARP, DNS, NAT, STP)
BS/MS in EE or CS
