Everyday Health is hiring! We are looking for a dynamic and highly detail-oriented Senior Wordpress Engineer to join our Everydayhealth.com team. This Senior Wordpress Engineer needs to work alongside business stakeholders, product owners, and project managers to help build and manage highly interactive, dynamic and data driven online applications.

Responsibilities:
Work with a cross-functional team to iteratively develop high quality products
Develop enterprise-wide services for use on multiple Everyday Health web properties
Develop data access and business logic layers in multi-tier web applications
Provide estimates to project management for project work streams
Become the subject matter expert for all systems under your responsibility
Participate in enterprise architecture meetings
Anticipate business needs and propose efficient technology solutions to requirements
Qualifications:
Highly-motivated web developer with a minimum of 5 years experience
Strong Wordpress developer, including experience in building custom Wordpress Themes, Plugins and Widgets
Skillful in PHP, XHTML, HTML 5, Javascript, CSS, jQuery, AJAX and general Web 2.0 techniques
Proficiency in software engineering best practices and skillful in the use of JSON/AJAX/XML techniques
Expertise in building responsive and scalable sites for all platforms
Experience with object oriented analysis/design
Familiarity with relational databases, preferably MYSQL or SQLServer
Understanding of web services technologies such as SOAP, HTTP, WSDL etc
Have the ability to read and write code that leverages complex OO concepts as well as design patterns
Experience collaborating with design and development teams on large-scale projects
Ability to effectively communicate with technical and non-technical personnel
