SEO Analyst Everyday Health

Everyday Health is looking for a passionate, bright and hardworking SEO analyst to join our SEO product development team in New York City. The SEO product team is focused on site-specific features, content, and campaigns that will substantially grow search-related revenue.
The SEO analyst will be responsible for developing and improving organic search engine traffic to a subset of websites in Everyday Health?s portfolio. He or she will become established as an SEO expert providing SEO leadership to different teams in the company such as editorial, engineering and product, and will assist Everyday Health?s SEO team in accomplishing its goals. This position will report to Everyday Health?s SEO director.
The SEO analyst will be entering a fast-paced environment and will have hands-on responsibility for projects that are strategically critical to Everyday Health?s growth. While he or she does not need to have years of experience running SEO projects for large content sites, we expect applicants to be fast learners and comfortable with what SEO is and how it works, how modern websites are built, writing content for the web, project management and social media.
Being a team player, being able to focus on details but also to see the big picture, and being very creative and tech savvy are musts!
Understand the group of sites fully to make informed and intelligent recommendations and improvements.
Follow all major and minor search engine ranking updates, as well as competitors? search engine rankings and search volume for the niche, to build a rich understanding of how search engines? changes affect real world traffic.
Perform keyword research to identify new areas of opportunity.
Diagnose technical issues that may be affecting crawling, indexation, ranking, canonicalization, clickthrough rate, &c.
Work with product, technology, and editorial teams to maximize the SEO value of our Health properties.
Stay on top of the sites? performance in Omniture, Google Analytics and email dashboards to be aware of any problematic areas, and take the initiative to research and propose corrective steps.
Assist Everyday Health?s SEO team in strategizing to correct errors and to maximize our sites? search engine traffic.
0-2 years experience in the SEO field.
Expertise in Excel.
Preferred: four year college degree.
Preferred: knowledge of HTML and CSS.
Preferred: background in web development, web analytics or internet marketing.
Preferred: Prior firsthand knowledge of SEO, such as Google?s organic ranking factors, specific updates such as the Panda and Penguin algorithms, rich snippets, information architecture, link development, popular SEO software, keyword research, canonicalization, Google Analytics and Webmaster Tools.
