We have a diverse and talented team of employees who come to us from many kinds of backgrounds. We have an immediate need for a talented, motivated SEO Manager who will report to our VP, Advertising Strategy and Partnerships in either our Evanston or Naperville, IL offices.
Overview
The SEO Manager is a key contributor to Legacy.com's monetization strategy. Working as a member of the revenue team, this newly created role will become the lead subject matter expert related to SEO and SEM activities. With a focus on positively impacting KPIs that drive revenue, this person will work across the organization to implement traffic growth strategies she/he develops.
The ideal candidate is a problem solver, has a history of using data to support strategy development, and wants to be a direct contributor to growing revenue for a profitable internet business that is top-50 in traffic. This person should have experience developing and implementing SEO strategies, tracking success via custom reporting (i.e. using Excel along-side web analytics tools) and a history of achieving positive results testing and tracking new tactics.
Responsibilities
Develop strategies that grow traffic to achieve revenue objectives
Work closely with the Advertising team to identify traffic growth priorities based on revenue potential and ensure traffic related KPIs are being achieved
Analyze and optimize organic search for Legacy.com, including but not limited to: keyword selection/utilization, site architecture, and landing page creation
Develop integrated campaign strategies (utilizing SEO and PPC) to promote audience and page view growth, targeting high-yield categories such as Genealogy, Sympathy Flowers, and Charities
Act as SEO subject matter expert by providing ongoing input to internal business partners regarding SEO best practices, with the consistent goal of increasing traffic in high-value areas to support Advertising revenue growth
Use various internal and external analytics tools to measure performance of page view and audience growth initiatives, use data to identify areas of growth opportunity based on site-utilization trends
Monitor SEO and PPC trends and investigate material fluctuations in performance
Provide weekly/monthly communication to internal stakeholders on performance of identified KPIs
Update and maintain Traffic related reporting component of the Advertising Dashboard
Coordinate the Audience Development project plan with various internal teams to identify resources, estimate timelines, and drive tasks to successful/on-time completion
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in a quantitative discipline with proven problem-solving skills
4+ years professional experience in the internet or online marketing industries
2+ years experience in SEO for an online business or in an agency environment
Strong written and verbal communication silks; experience leading projects is a plus
Experience with web analytics tools, preferably Google Analytics and Unica
Very strong working knowledge of Excel, with a demonstrated ability summarizing and presenting performance data
Basic understanding of HTML, CSS and JavaScript
