Job Description
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs product servicing, including analysis, troubleshooting, repairs and upgrades of RF Generators.
Performs extensive complaint analysis of disposable product.
Performs product new builds, updates, upgrades and modifications per engineering documents.
Interface with company sales representatives, bio-medical technicians and customers for first line technical support.
Maintains Service and Complaint records, logs and trending charts.
Assists in writing test, service, maintenance, manufacturing and operating procedures and processes.
Builds and documents test fixtures used in servicing, troubleshooting and testing of product.
Qualifies and validates new or alternate equipment, processes and new and alternative components.
Performs other duties and responsibilities as required.
Gathers, maintains and researches accurate and timely records, technical data and test documentation.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be able to work from schematics, wiring diagrams and blueprints.
Ability to troubleshoot a system to board and component level.
Excellent communication, conflict resolution and interpersonal relationships skills.
Must be able to understand and comply with Good Manufacturing Practices and Covidien Safety Policies.
Skill in the use and care of all tools and equipment.
Ability to demonstrate superior workmanship, quantity, and quality in all work areas.
Knowledge of theory of scientific or technical discipline and ability to understand technical drawings and verbal direction.
Computer skills ? Excellent understanding of Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office, Outlook.
Excellent record keeping skills and ability to keep neat and accurate laboratory notebooks.
Ability to speak, read and write English; understand and communicate simple written or oral instructions in English. Make grammatical corrections to technical notes.
Skill in technical measurement using standard laboratory tools, such as DVM, oscilloscope, etc.
Ability to perform as a team member, participates in team decision making, development and communications.
Ability to review and analyze Engineering reports and provide feedback to Engineering and Management.
EDUCATION:
Education Requirements:
AS in electronics, military electronics certificate or two years college credit in electronics required.
EXPERIENCE (please note required or Preferred):
Experience Requirements:
Four plus (4+) years of technical/manufacturing or closely related experience.
Knowledge of measuring devices such as oscilloscope, digital voltmeter and RMS voltmeters. Common equipment used in electromechanical assembly required.
Experience in the Medical Industry preferred.
Experience in a technical support call center preferred
Knowledge of Service Systems such as E-One or S2000 preferred
MATERIAL AND EQUIPMENT DIRECTLY USED:
Measuring devices such as oscilloscope, digital voltmeter and RMS voltmeters. Common equipment used in electromechanical assembly.
Common laboratory tools such as various hand tools and soldering equipment.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES:
Usual office environment with frequent- sitting, walking, standing, kneeling, crouching, crawling, balancing, stooping and occasional- climbing.
Frequent- use of eye, hand and finger coordination enabling use of office machinery.
Oral and auditory capacity enabling interpersonal communication as well as communication through automated devices such as the telephone.
Light physical effort required by handling objects up to 20 pounds occasionally- and/or up to 10 pounds frequently.
-Occasional: Activity exists less than 1/3 of the time.
-Frequent: Activity exists between 1/3 and 2/3 of the time.
