Service Test Technician (Req #301) OptiMedica
The Catalys System developed by OptiMedica is designed to bring precision to the critical steps in cataract surgery. We are looking for a Service Test Technician (Req #301) to join our team of dedicated medical device manufacturing and service professionals. As part of Techical Services organization, this individual will be the key point of contact between our customer service team, field service engineers, and other groups within the company.
In addition to managing product/parts returned from the field, this person will also be responsible for alignment, calibration, and inspection and testing the laser systems for OptiMedica?s Cataract surgical platforms. Another key responsibility will be the qualification and testing of service spare parts prior to being sent to the field or into service inventory.
The ideal candidate will also be assisting in the continuous improvement of vendor and component selection, manufacturing and quality processes, alignment and calibration instructions, and necessary manufacturing documentation.

Support Global Customer Care in managing all product/part returns from the field
Hardware inventory management
Version control of inbound inventory
Outbound inventory management to the field/customers
Aligns, calibrates, inspects, and tests the laser systems
Designs and prepares test fixtures for data collection and analysis
Follows manufacturing assembly/alignment instructions and generates tracking documents to meet QSR and ISO requirements
Collects and reports on product failure/root-cause data collected during RMA activities to support current product improvement and future product development
Aligns calibrates, and tests laser subassemblies and integrated systems
Inspects optics and optical sub-assemblies
Completes Device History Record documentation
Records, obtains engineering opinion and resolves observed non-conformances
Maintains clean production workspaces while following good manufacturing practices
Follows all safety and quality system requirements
Provides feedback for continuous improvement in the production environment
Works with R&D engineers and suppliers to concurrently develop products for manufacturability
Performs and documents all IQ, OQ and PQ activities as required on production fixtures and equipment
10 years of laser system assembly and alignment experience
5 years of experience working with RMA?s
Understanding of fundamental laser principles
Production or related experience in medical equipment manufacturing
Knowledge of ISO and GMP regulations and requirements
Experience with electronics and optical test equipment
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Power-point)
AS in a technical discipline related to laser devices and/or electrical/electronics or equivalent work experience
