Services Alliance Manager

Our partner community includes PartnerConnect partners who deliver consulting solutions to our joint customers and technology partners who assist us with add-on products to augment our software.

A key success factor for the Services Alliance Manager is the ability to develop, nurture, and coordinate cross-functional teams at Guidewire internally in Sales, Marketing, Services, Training and Alliances, and to be a single point of focus to manage the Partner or Alliance relationship. To that end, you should have the ability to have a clear vision of a working operating model for us to engage our Alliances and Partners with the functions and service level expectations on each engagement, and to cross-pollinate each department with this vision.

As a successful Services Alliance Manager, you will be well-versed and knowledgeable about Guidewire Services' value proposition, offerings, and messaging. You will cross levels and roles to maintain qualification criteria for current Partners during implementation engagements. From an objective perspective, you will review prospective Partners against qualification criteria and gauge their ability to contribute to Guidewire's go-to-market activities. On the team, your success to establish rules of engagement and governance between Guidewire Services and Partner teams will let you remove hierarchy and keep our vision in line at all times: 100% Customer Project Success. To be successful you enable services' Alliances and Partners to engage effectively with Guidewire prospects by driving partner education, training, sales enablement, and joint marketing programs.
So what will I be doing?
As mentioned above, you will first learn all of the fundamentals of our Guidewire Services' value proposition, offerings, and messaging. As Services projects start, you will ensure that all parties and departments are in dialogue, have a clear vision of a win-win engagement, understand their role in the implementation engagement, and can work in tandem to ensure customer success. In evaluating Partners and Alliances' future suitability you will catalog and recommend Partners based on their product expertise profile, recommending training paths across the Consultant roles, Guidewire products and geographies. You ensure that Partner resources meet or exceed training / certification expectations in parallel or ahead of project demand. As a resourcing expert, you will understand Partners' overall trained/certified personnel who will be available for upcoming projects and communicate with the Partner or Alliance stakeholder to confirm they are earmarked for those engagements. In supporting our Services and Field Sales teams internally, you will provide monthly updates on Alliance and Partners implementation capacity.

Guidewire is committed to 100% Customer Implementation success so you will also monitor the success of Partner or Alliance â€" led projects through the project lifecycle through established milestone checkpoints. You will regularly initiate Customer Satisfaction Surveys to inform the team of opportunities for improved communications, training opportunities, or successful best of class stories.
How will you contribute to the success of the program?
Part of our commitment to growing the Partner and Alliance relationship is to provide regular updates on Partner/Alliance training/certification completion, project progress, revenue impacts, and other metrics. This long view serves as a compass to be value added to our Partners and Alliances to ensure we enable them to succeed in tandem with us. As an expert Services Alliance Manager, you should inform us on trends and potential improvements within our Partner management processes and help to proactively communicate our upcoming Guidewire services offerings, potential impact to Partners and Alliances. You will keep a close eye to align relationships within all levels at Guidewire and the partner ecosystem to drive growth. You will be the voice of the Partners and Alliances internally during quarterly business reviews, planning sessions, and other strategy sessions giving them an internal advocate to foster their success. You will help integrate the partner's vision and strategy with Guidewire's vision and strategy to grow and sustain mutually profitable revenue. In this way, you should help foster partner's self-sufficiency via process improvements, tools awareness/training and development of repeatable methodology.
Our hiring is as methodical, rational and stringent as our development standards… To be considered you should have experience in the following:
- 8+ years of experience in enterprise software business with a track record of Services Alliance and Partner relationship management
- 3+ years of experiencing leading complex projects throughout the entire project lifecycle with a deep understanding of project financials, performance indicators, and financial strategies that represent successful engagements operationally
- 3+ years of experience establishing and managing strategic alliance relationships demonstrated by building influential relationships, collaboration techniques, and cross-functional internal teams to meet goals with demonstrated expertise in communications to influence and establish relationships
- Visible results of goal alignment between partners and alliances and internal teams to create a line of sight between own and partners objectives for all projects
- Consulting project experience at a systems integrator or a software company with a professional services division.
- Global / international experience â€" roles/activities beyond the US only.
- Located in the SF Bay area or location near a Guidewire office and/or major airport.
- Responsive, self-motivated, professional, enthusiastic, team-oriented, and ethical character traits
- Exceptional communication, organization, and prioritization skills
- Experience defining/refining processes and driving improvements throughout a rapidly growing organization
- Willingness to travel up to 20%
