THIS JOB HAS EXPIRED Essential Functions, Duties and Responsibilities:
The NOC Shift Lead is responsible for the day to day operations of the MarketLive Network Operations Center. Working under very limited supervision, the Shift Lead is responsible for supervising the NOC Technicians to ensure appropriate and timely actions to resolve incidents. The Shift Lead sets daily task priorities, and divides up workload between on-duty Technicians. Manages request queue, and ensures that incoming requests for service are assigned to an on-duty Technician for resolution. Ensures escalations to other groups are carried out in a timely and proper manner, and communicates with other team leads to ensure timely resolution of escalated incidents. The Shift Lead is responsible for first level management escalations in the absence of Team Lead or NOC manager. Helps train new hires and assists in developing materials and curriculum. Communicates with clients and other departments on status of incidents. Serves as a mentor / role model to the NOC Team.
Education and Experience:
Two to three years of experience working with and leading a team of technicians maintaining production servers providing essential corporate or customer revenue streams.
Three to five years of experience working in a 24x7x365 system support functions, with tools for scheduling, ticket management, system monitoring and change management.
Experience with hands-on system engineering in Windows and Linux environments. The primary focus of the current MarketLive environment is Windows, with a growing population of Red Hat Enterprise Sites.
B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent work experience
Certifications in Microsoft, Cisco, security and Red Hat areas of expertise are desirable.
Lead a shift or team of technicians in a 24x7x365 support environment
Mentor and teach NOC technicians best practices in monitoring and site recovery.
Participate in or lead cross-functional teams in root cause analysis and corrective action documentation and follow up for severe outages.
Proficiency and hands-on understanding of the following technologies:
Web server monitoring and configuration (IIS, Apache)
Application server monitoring and configuration (Resin, Tomcat, BEA)
LAN/WAN technologies and configuration knowledge to assist in troubleshooting
Server configuration tools in Windows and Red Hat Enterprise
Synthetic test tools (Keynote, Nagios)
