Shipping Coordinator SeaMobile

GENERAL PURPOSE:
Plans, coordinates, executes and tracks all tasks and information related to the field of shipping to internal and/or external customers. Also assists with inventory planning and re-stocking functions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Prepares, executes, tracks and records all domestic and international shipments while ensuring that shipments are made in a cost efficient manner.
Resolves inventory shipments and/or shipment orders discrepancies.
Assists management in the forecasting of inventory.
Assists with inventory physical, cycle and min/max counts.
Prepares export documents for shipments and electronic filing of Shippers export declarations
Ensures materials shipped are packaged properly such that parts will not be damaged during transportation.
Ensures shipment orders/and or other equipment requests are checked for accuracy and completeness for shipment.
Ensures equipment requisitions are accurate and have all required authorizations prior to release.
Enters all shipping information in the inventory computer system.
Maintains stock of shipping supplies used in daily warehouse operations.
Assists in preparation of shipping quotes.
Executes proactive notifications of shipments to internal and/or external customers.
Assists with other logistics tasks as required.
Picks items per pick list and/or work order.
Re-stocks inventory in warehouse.
Cross trains to perform receiving duties.
Any other related projects/duties as may be assigned.
NATURE OF WORK CONTACTS:
This position reports to the Manager, Shipping & Receiving. This position interacts daily with Sales, Accounting & Operations; it also interacts with freight forwarders, carrier drivers and dispatchers.
MIMIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
The position requires import-export knowledge (Regulations, controls, Logistics, etc.); knowledge of inventory tracking & control (Physical inventories, Fixed asset & Min-Max, etc.) systems preferred. Knowledge of general accounting and financial principals (Cost of Sales, Fixed assets, Invoicing, Purchasing) is helpful. 2-5 years experience in Logistics/Shipping/Warehouse field required.
PHYSICAL/SENSORY DEMANDS:
Continuous export and international education required due to constant changes by US and International Customs laws and regulations. The position requires extensive use of computers and different tracking/shipping software (Great Plains, Databases, Excel, Word, etc.). The environment is fast moving and demanding. Must be self-motivated and know how to prioritize and organize different tasks at one time. Able to move/lift up to 50lbs.
