Shipping & Receiving Specialist
HelioVolt is seeking a highly motivated individual to help facilitate its shipping, receiving and warehousing functions. This position supports the materials needs of internal customers and will be responsible for maintaining inventory accuracy and initiating re-orders when appropriate. The Shipping and Receiving Specialist is also responsible for: loading and unloading product, receiving and stocking materials, and shipping domestically and internationally. This position is a contract position that has the potential to convert to a full-time regular position.
This position is not simply a desk job - there will be lots of walking, bending, and lifting. It also involves periodic use of a forklift (we will train in-house) and periodic receipt of hazardous chemicals. Candidates will be required to lift 40+ lbs repetitively with ease.
The successful candidate will have: Strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, the ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing, experience with Excel, and the ability to handle interruptions and resume focus. The ability to ?think outside the box? and come up with creative solutions to unique problems is a definite plus.
Package and prepare small items for domestic shipment, usually through UPS online.
Package and prepare large items for shipment; gather requirements from internal customers, request quotes for shipments, select shipping companies.
Package and prepare items for international shipments, create export documents and international shipping manifests, etc.
Track shipments from cradle to grave, and follow up with any damage or loss claims or other issues.
Periodically create custom shipping boxes or shipping solutions on an as needed basis.
Receiving duties for entire company
Periodic forklift or pallet jack use to load and unload trucks on shipping/receiving dock.
Inspect incoming packages, and resolve issues with damaged, mis-delivered or incorrect items.
Receive material in an accurate and timely manner in system of record
Periodic receipt of hazardous chemicals
Warehouse and Inventory Control
Monitor materials on hand and create orders to replenish when necessary
Stock items appropriately, and update inventory records accurately
Track finished goods inbound and outbound in system of record
Maintain a safe, clean, and organized warehouse
Supply Chain activities
Communicate with external suppliers regarding orders, pricing, lead time, etc
Place purchase orders and track from cradle to grave
Periodic contract / supplier management as necessary
Perform PO support activities regarding documentation and system requirements as needed.
Able to lift 40 lbs. repetitively
Excellent communication skills ? both written and verbal
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Solid experience with MS Office products, especially Excel
Ability to handle interruptions and resume focus
Strong organization skills
Willingness and ability to work in a team environment, and to work alone and unsupervised
Prior experience in shipping and/or receiving a plus
