Silvon Application Specialist / Presales Silvon Software
Role / Responsibilities:
The Application Specialist is responsible for assisting the sales team to drive revenue by:
Leading the business plan discovery call process in conjunction with the Silvon sales representative to analyze a prospects business environment and provide creative methods of adapting Silvons Stratum solution to solve their business problems.
Delivering a set of standard demonstrations to prospects using the live product either face-to-face or via Webex covering each of the Stratum modules in a business environment.
Conducting user-level technical exchanges to explain the features and functions of Stratum information delivery technology.
Configuring and delivering a customized demo requiring modification of various standard analytics to match the business plans.
Managing the Proof-of-Concept (POC) process, including providing guidance to the prospect about data requirements, testing the validity of loaded data and adapting the appropriate analytical views to demonstrate the business value of Stratum.
Advanced Technical Requirements:
While not required for the base responsibilities, the Application Specialist will be significantly more effective and provide added value if the following requirements exist or are developed over time.
ETL tools and processes (SQL custom coding, DTS, etc.)
In depth configuration and use of MS Analysis and Reporting Services
Set up of Web server environments such as Microsoft IIS
Administration of Relational databases (DB2 and SQL Server)
Knowledge of midrange ERP architectures
Working knowledge of forecasting systems and best practices
S&OP process support and best practices
Sales Support Requirements:
Must be resourceful, self-motivated, customer focused, and able to work in a team environment.
Must possess good presentation skills, be capable of preparing custom PowerPoint presentations, and be able to speak with different audiences (IT and business executives)
Must possess an understanding of sales methodologies and the ability to apply them in a sales situation.
This position requires candidates to be located in the Chicago area and work out of our Westmont, Illinois office. Some travel is required.
