Kiva is seeking a talented and motivated individual to contribute to the Solutions Simulation Team as an analyst focusing on Simulation. The individual will specialize in configuring, running, analyzing and maintaining a discrete-event simulation model of the Kiva Material Handling System.
The Simulation Analyst is responsible for:
Experiment design and analysis: Preparing input data and parameters, designing and executing simulation experiments, and analyzing results.
Simulation project planning and reporting: Preparing plan-of-work and report documents, creating presentations including graphical display of quantitative information and video animation files.
Refining customer solutions: Identifying system design and implementation improvements by understanding the complex interactions between customer specific information (product, order data and workflows) and the algorithms and hardware capabilities that determine the performance of the Kiva solution.
Model development: Scoping, designing, implementing and testing new features and or new simulation models
Support: Providing support to internal users of simulation models and tools in the way of classroom training, debugging, and troubleshooting configuration issues.
Other tasks: Analyzing customer data sets using off-the-shelf and Kiva-developed tools and conducting system design validations
The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field (master's degree or equivalent experience preferred)
A strong record of academic and/or workplace achievement
Advanced level Excel and VB skills
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Excellent teamwork skills
Desire and energy to work in a fast-paced team environment
Other skills and experience including some or all of:
Experience working with discrete-event simulation models
Some background in material handling system design and/or implementation
Ability to analyze large data sets using Excel, SQL, or programming techniques
Experience developing using an object oriented programming language. Java preferred
