Responds to patient phone calls regarding shipment inquiries. Ensures all necessary medical documents and patient accounts are consistent and complete to permit the timely billing of patient services. Responsible for administering front desk operations including a variety of administrative office tasks and assisting walk-up Medicaid customers. Effectively completes a variety of goal-oriented departmental tasks that will require adaptability, attention to detail and efficiency.
Handles patient calls related to orders, reorders, and account questions
Obtains verbal authorizations for reorders
Creates manual orders
Troubleshoots patient concerns
Makes sure all required medical documentation is complete to permit billing of services
Manages front desk tasks and operations for the facility
Provides customer assistance to walk-up guests and Medicaid customers.
Maintains accurate patient records
Compiles and maintains reports used to track orders
Maintains regular and consistent attendance
Maintains open lines of communication with organizational leadership and inter and intra department management and personnel.
Follows all applicable health care laws, regulations and requirements.
Actively participates in Continuous Quality Improvement.
Demonstrates thoroughness with all work related activities.
Strives to continually improve quality and productivity results displayed by Department Personnel on an ongoing basis.
Assists with obtaining documentation for other specialty departments, when needed.
Maintains scheduling flexibility to ensure availability to meet the needs of the department for all hours of operation.
Assumes other duties and responsibilities as assigned by manager.
Abides by all departmental, Employee, and Company policies, procedures and standards.
High School diploma or GED equivalent and 6 months of customer service experience (preferably in a call center environment or phone-based position) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to patients, and other employees of the organization.
Strong written or oral communication skills required.
Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
Must be detail oriented with excellent time management skills.
Ability to manage and coordinate multiple projects to meet all deadlines.
