Smart Lighting/Lighting Controls Engineer
As Bridgelux continues to push the edge on SSL innovation, the company is building a technical team to combine its current LED & lighting expertise with additional capabilities in lighting controls, electronics and the Internet of Things. The Candidate will directly report to Director of Smart Lighting and join a talented team of lighting systems experts in defining and developing product roadmap and architecture, as well as provide support on partnerships and marketing related functions. This position will provide the opportunity for an innovative engineer to work across multiple disciplines in lighting controls technology, power electronics and IoT.
We are looking for a lighting control system engineer with proven experience in advanced networked lighting controls and driver electronics.
â€¢ Serve as a key Smart Lighting Product Development engineer in design & productization of smart lighting products, including smart LEDs, modules & luminaires integrated with lighting control systems and intelligence
â€¢ Interface with LED Product Development in development of integrated modules to ensure compatibility & achieve technical synergies
â€¢ Develop and benchmark system performance models, designs & implements test procedures and/or evaluates and selects appropriate test instrumentation
â€¢ Apply quantitative analysis to determine root cause of highly technical problems and propose, develop and implement solutions for corrective action
â€¢ Interface with manufacturing, operations, reliability and sustaining engineering in bringing product from R&D phase to commercial mass production
Work closely with strategy, marketing and product development functions to help define product roadmap, market needs, and product requirements
â€¢ Help provide technical perspective to executive team, marketing, strategy, & business development
â€¢ Supporting technical interface to develop & vet technical partnerships and technology or component suppliers
â€¢ MS or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or equivalent
â€¢ 2+ years of related experience developing advanced networked lighting control systems, including knowledge of network infrastructure, lighting controls technology & driver electronics
â€¢ Candidate must have a detailed working knowledge of electronics and discrete semiconductor based architecture design with capabilities in device/hardware and software
â€¢ Broad knowledge of LED devices, modules and light engines, as well as LED lighting systems including thermal management, optical control, electrical parameters of LEDs and LED drivers
â€¢ Proven strong engineering track record
â€¢ Motivated self-starter with ability to work individually or within a team environment
â€¢ Strong communication skills verbal & written
